Dilasa- A Home For Hope

Classes VIII& IX had a short visit to Dilasa Bhavan, a centre for mentally challenged and HIV/AIDS positive children run by the Snagli Mission Society. Those staying there are on a journey of rehabilitation in to the community, a meaningful life. For those who live there, is the last stop in the search for hope and a new start on life. Yes, Dilasa Bhavan is the hope for the hopeless. It is indeed a home where these children find hope and help them live the life with all the dignity of a human being. The issues and challenges faced by vulnerable HIV positive/ infected children are unimaginable, their plight unfathomable. They struggle for acceptance and recognition by the society. A Home like Dilasa serve this purpose of the above mentioned children. The radiating smiles on their faces revealed to us that they are taken care well and that they are very happy over there.
We really appreciate the entire Sangli Mission Society and especially the Priests and nuns who look after them for opening such centres and serving the humanity. It’s a great service indeed. The students were taken up by the dedicated service of the priests and nuns.
